Weekends, public holidays, and school vacation periods (especially July and August) are the busiest, with long queues and packed courtyards. Mondays are the quietest on Castle Hill, but note that both main museums are closed.

Peak season runs from mid-May through August, with July and August seeing the highest visitor numbers and longest wait times.
